Honor a loved one with a poinsettia for Christmas worship. You’ll find a sign-up sheet at the Information Center; poinsettias are $15 each. Donors’ names will appear on a bulletin insert.
Magnify!, OSL’s 2017 Advent Devotional, is the result of members of the Our Savior’s community sharing reflections of what God has done in their lives. May these brief devotional pieces help you to focus on your own Advent journey and the many ways in which God walks it with you. You may pick up at copy at the Information Center, or download a copy at oslchurch.com, or sign up at oslchurch.com to receive devotions daily via email.
Dancers are invited to participate in the Candle Dance for Christmas Eve worship services at 4:00, 6:00, and 10:00 p.m. Dancers (grade 5 through adult) should be able to carry a votive with a flame. Rehearsal will be on Saturday, Dec. 23, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Interested dancers should contact Pamela Madsen, email@example.com 371-8882.
Just for fun, this weekend, Dec. 16–17, will be ugliest Christmas sweater weekend at OSL. Wear your best ugliest, most hilarious sweater to worship!
The Tree of Remembrance is now in The Gathering Place. Ornaments on this tree are given in memory of loved ones. You are invited to place an ornament on this tree in memory of someone who has died this past year, if you wish. Every year the ornaments will be placed back on the tree during the Advent Season.
Men of God: OSL’s combined Men’s Bible Breakfast group and Lutheran Men in Mission group meets on the first and third Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in the Office Conference Room. A continental breakfast is provided by members at each gathering. Men of all ages are invited to attend this one-hour Bible study when it meets next, on Dec. 16. For more information, contact Pr. You are invited to OSL’s Christmas GIFT (Generations in Faith Together) Christmas Eve worship service! GIFT, at 2:00 p.m. in the Celebrate Center, will be a family-focused service featuring interactive worship elements to draw everyone into the Christmas story. Learn more at oslchurch.com.
Socks for Christmas: OSL is helping the SIGH (Stepping into Good Health) Foot Care Clinic again this year by collecting new socks for the under-served and homeless in the community. Contributions of women’s crew socks and diabetic stockings are especially welcome. Items must be new, any design or color. Place them in the large red Christmas stocking in the donation area near the Library throughout December.
Will you be alone on Christmas Eve? Come to OSL’s Christmas Eve Dinner, on Dec. 24 at 5:00 p.m. (following worship), in the Friendship Room. The menu will be roasted pork loin, cheesy hash browns, diced carrots, warm dinner rolls, and Christmas cookies. Call the Church Office, 336-2942, to sign up.
Connecting Faith and Life, an adult discussion and study group, will begin meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 3, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., in the Office Conference Room. Pr. Randy will lead a discussion of the draft social statement on Women and Justice published by the ELCA. All are welcome to participate in the discussion.
