The Annual Meeting of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will be held on Sunday, Jan. 28, in The Gathering Place. A light lunch will be served at 12:00 p.m., followed by the meeting.
This Sunday, Jan. 21, is Cross+Gen Sunday, at 10:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. This event is in lieu of all Sunday morning youth and family programming—but it’s not just for parents and children. People of all ages, those full of wisdom and wonder, are welcome to come and participate in a candle making make-and-take craft.
Unique Mission Opportunity—in Harrisburg! OSL mission partner Table of Grace is seeking two families or individuals to serve as Mission Households for a period of one year at Table of Grace. Together with mission households from other partner congregations, these OSL-commissioned “missionaries” will help provide a critical mass of people to this developing congregation in the Harrisburg School District. The OSL Library’s Winter One Church One Read title is Wonder by R. J. Palacio. The Library has 12 copies. The discussion will take place on March 18 in the Conference Room.
A four-week miniseries based on the movie All Saints will begin in worship services this weekend and run through Feb. 10–11. All Saints is based on the true story of salesman-turned-pastor Michael Spurlock, the tiny church he was ordered to shut down, and a group of refugees from Southeast Asia. Take your experience to the next level by participating in a LifeGroup study during this miniseries. Sign up to be part of a LifeGroup at the table in The Gathering Place, beginning Dec. 30–31. Caring Friends opportunities exist for Luther Manor, Bethany Lutheran Home, Bethany Meadows (Brandon), Touchmark, Good Samaritan Center, and Grand Living at Lake Lorraine. Contact Deb, 336-2942, ext. 48, or, if you wish to help with this important ministry!
Connecting Faith and Life, an adult discussion and study group, will not meet this Wednesday, Jan. 24, but will resume on Jan. 31.

A Little Further Out...

Looking for engaging conversation on matters of faith and life in a fun, informal setting? Join Pr. Randy for Theology Tapped next Thursday, Jan. 25, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m., at Monk’s House of Ale Repute, 420 E. 8th St.
Learn more about Caring Friends, which expands OSL’s visitation program to members who are homebound or are in nursing homes or care facilities, by attending a sharing and fellowship meeting on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 11:00 a.m., in the Conference Room. The Silent Auction is the major fundraiser for youth summer trips each year. How can you support this effort? (1) Donate an item, service, or experience to be auctioned—donations are due to the Church Office by Feb 4. (2) Come to the Silent Auction Banquet on Sunday, Feb. 25—tickets will be available soon. And, of course, (3) bid on items, starting on Saturday, Feb. 17. The auction will end on Sunday, March 4, at 12:15 p.m.
Parents’ Night Out will be on Friday, Feb. 9, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Register for Nursery care (infant through age ten) by contacting Nancy Heesch,, with the names and ages of your children.
The next Dinner to Your Door meal-making session will be on Monday, Jan. 22, at 10:00 a.m., in The Gathering Place kitchen.
OSL Dining Out will shake things up a little by going to lunch (not dinner!), next Saturday, Jan. 27, at 11:30. Meet at All Day Cafe, in the Western Mall. Sign up at the Information Center or call Donna Wilson, 371-1518.
Musical events and hosting opportunities are coming up: The Gustavus Choir will present a concert at OSL on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 7:00 p.m. (A freewill offering will be received.) Luther College Nordic Choir will perform at OSL on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 7:00 P.M. (Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for ages 65 and up, and $5 for students. Reserve tickets via (800) 4-LUTHER or Some tickets will be available at the door.)
