Thank you for supporting OSL youth!

The good news is that you can, by following six proven steps that will take you deeper in your faith. Join Pr. Randy for a six-week Bible study on Wednesday evenings, 6:00 to 7:00, through May 16, in the Conference Room. All are welcome.

A Little Further Out...

Things are about to get crazy...but that’s what happens when it’s time for Midnight Madness, when OSL invites Augustana University students to come over for an evening of study, relaxation, recreation—and pizza!—as they prepare for finals. This year’s Midnight Madness will be on Sunday, May 13, from 6:00 to midnight, and there are many opportunities for you to help. Stop by the table in The Gathering Place on Sundays, starting on April 8, to donate your time, food, or financial support for pizzas, or contact Loretta Nelson, lnelson@oslchurch.com or 336-2942, ext. 14. Thank you for your support of Our Savior’s Augie neighbors.
May 12 is the rescheduled date for the Spring Women’s Retreat, from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m., in The Gathering Place! There will be a light brunch, devotions, music, door prizes, and a wonderful speaker, the charismatic and entertaining Trish Syverson, whose topic will be “A Laugh a Day Keeps…” Questions? Contact Janiece Peterson, 351-8155 or janiecelpeterson@live.com.
Wellness Wednesdays will continue through May 2, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., in Caring Ministries. Register with Michelle Anderson, RN, Faith Community Nurse, 336-2942, ext. 28, or mianderson@oslchurch.com.

Opportunities and Things to Note...

There’s a Childcare Ministry Opportunity in the Nursery on May 6, for one or two helpers. Contact Nancy, robertheesch@yahoo.com, if you wish to help.
OSL supports the Food To You Mobile Food Pantry by donating various food items throughout the year, which will be used by local families in need. The food item for May is peanut butter. Donations may be placed in the marked bins near the south entrance, by the Library.
May Bags will be delivered to homebound OSL members on May 6. Volunteers will deliver more than 150 bags, which means opportunities for many OSL members—at least 75—to help with deliveries. Pr. Justin will pray with volunteers after worship services that day as they pick up their bags in The Gathering Place and begin their deliveries. Sign up at the Information Center.
Through Bread for the World’s Offering of Letters, you can provide hope and opportunity for people living with hunger; you can help persuade Congress to invest in programs that help overcome hunger and poverty. Handwritten letters are the most effective way to make yourself heard in Washington, D.C., and your letter will be amplified by the tens of thousands written by others. Come to The Gathering Place between worship services on May 6 to write your letters.
It’s that time again—time to sign up to serve Meals on Wheels! The schedule for May through August is being drawn up. To help OSL continue its long commitment to this community program, contact Sandy Garnas, 338-5440. Training will be provided for new drivers.
