Stand Strong
Every 20 minutes someone in the U.S. dies from a fall-related injury. Our Savior’s wants you to Stand Strong and be free of injuries so you can continue in your daily walk and service. That’s why Caring Ministries will provide Fall Risk Screening and Education to help reduce the number of falls and devastating injuries that occur from falls every day. Falling is for leaves, not people!

Fall Risk Screening and Education – The Gathering Place West
Saturday, October 12, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. (before Festive worship service).
Sunday, October 13, between worship services.

A Trip to Saudi Arabia
This month’s Friendship Club presenter will be OSL member Ron Rossing, talking about the recent trip he and his wife, Martha, made to visit their son and his family in Saudi Arabia.

Mark Rossing and his wife have been teaching in Saudi Arabia for several years now, and have learned much about the people, culture, and religion of that country. Ron and Martha brought back many stories and pictures of their time touring the country. You won’t want to miss this fascinating presentation!

Friendship Club will meet on Tuesday, October 15, at 10:30 a.m., in the Friendship Room, with lunch afterward in The Gathering Place. Mark your calendar, and bring a friend to Friendship Club!

Lunch, Look, and Learn
OSL’s tours of local senior community living facilities, Lunch, Look, and Learn, will take a break for now; keep an eye out for tours to resume next year.

Many thanks to the senior communities that graciously welcomed interested OSL members and provided delightful lunches; to Project CAR for help with transportation (thanks to OSL’s partnership with Charis Ministries); and of course to the participants, who appreciated the opportunity to explore several retirement living options in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area.
