Addiction Awareness Wednesday
We are honored to welcome Angela Kennecke, a veteran investigative journalist with a mission to eradicate the stigma surrounding addiction and find solutions to the overdose epidemic. Her dedication took on personal urgency when she learned that her 21-year-old daughter, Emily, died from fentanyl poisoning. Since then, Angela has spoken tirelessly about the drug crisis and founded “Emily’s Hope,” a charity offering hope and treatment scholarships to families struggling with addiction. This is a free event open to everyone. Let’s come together to learn, reflect, and support those affected by addiction.
Wednesday, March 12 at 7:15 p.m. Free will donation.
Learn About Local Foods!
IronFox Farm is a neighborhood educational gardening space. They have established a partnership with Eugene Field Elementary School to provide educational lessons to elementary students about plants, flowers, soil health, pollinators, fruits, and vegetables. Working with Augustana and Empower Sioux Falls, the garden distributes local produce to local groceries such as Fair Market and the mobile food pantry. On March 16 at 10 a.m. in the Friendship Room, co-owner Megan EisenVos will share information about IronFox Farm and the local food distribution scene. The Creation Care Team invites you to join us to learn more.

Need A Friend? Be A Friend!
LSS Better Together Program helps people 65 and older maintain or reinvigorate connections. We match older adults called a “Neighbor,” with a trained volunteer.
Neighbors and their assigned volunteers meet four hours a month to share a meal, go to a play, visit a park, watch a movie or grab a coffee and chat, among other activities.
If you want to meet a new friend, consider being a part of the LSS Better Together Program.
LSS staff will meet with you and get an idea of your interests and needs before matching you with a volunteer.
Call us at 605-444-7803 to get started.
