Graphic for Cross+Gen EventYou’re invited to the Tape Resist Cross+Gen event on Sunday, January 16, from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m., in Fellowship Hall. Using a canvas, blue tape, and paint, you’ll create a New Year canvas. Highlight your word of the year, a favorite scripture reference, or whatever you wish, and place it in your home as a daily reminder of hope and inspiration for the year ahead. There is no cost to participate. This Cross+Gen event is in lieu of Sunday education that day. Students grade five and younger must have a caring adult with them. And, for the safety of all participating, masks are required. All are welcome!

Opportunities to Help

Cat Playing with Toilet PaperRoll Call: Every year, Our Savior’s collects toilet paper during January. Why, you ask? So it can be combined with other personal care items to distribute to families via Necessities for Neighbors, a program of OSL’s partner ministry, Charis Ministry, in February. Bring your donations to OSL anytime from now through the end of the month.
Photo of Mathematics FormulaBe someone who counts! Offering counters meet on Monday mornings for approximately two hours. Why not be one of them? No experience is necessary. More counters are especially needed for January through April. For details, call Barb Haugan, 605-336-2942, ext. 23.
Photo of Soap BarCharis Ministry Partners, a partnership of Sioux Falls area ELCA congregations that fills critical gaps in social assistance in Sioux Falls, has indicated a need for new bar soap for hygiene kits provided to recipients of the outreach program. Place your donation in the labeled container near the south entrance, and thank you for your generosity!

Food to You Mobile Food Pantry logoOSL supports the Food to You Mobile Food Pantry by donating various food items to help local families in need, and helping with food distributions. The item for January is macaroni and cheese; for February, pasta of any kind. Always appreciated are toothpaste, shampoo, and deodorant for Hygiene Packs. Place your donations in the marked bins near the south entrance, by the Library.

Stephen Ministry photoOSL’s Stephen Minister training class begins this week. Please keep these trainees in your prayers as they nurture their gifts and acquire new skills so they can bring Christ’s love and care to hurting people: Jeanne Carter, Bob Nelson, Amber Oorlog, Robert Peterson, Ben Weins, and Shawn Wells.
