Congregational Meeting graphicOur Savior’s Mid-Year Congregational Meeting will take place this Sunday, July 18, at 11:30 a.m., in The Gathering Place. A light lunch will be served. Don’t miss it!
Gracism book coverPr. Randy’s five-week Summer Book Study on the book Gracism: The Art of Inclusion by David A. Anderson, continues for two more weeks. Anderson says when we look at color, class, or culture in a negative way, that’s racism, but if you want to look at these issues in a positive, grace-filled way, we learn to respond to injustice and prejudice with radical inclusion and a great deal of love. Anderson calls that gracism. The book study meets at 6:30 p.m., in the Friendship Room. Books are available in the Church Office for $20.
Photo of OSL Library The OSL Library is open and waiting for you! Stop in soon and browse the extensive collection of books, music, and movies. Visit the online catalog at Atriuum, which includes the Library’s current hours. See you soon!

Contact Michelle Anderson, RN, Faith Community Nurse, 336-2942, ext. 28, or mianderson@oslchurch.com with questions.
Photo of Mah-Jongg tilesCome play Mah-Jongg! An ancient game from China, Mah-Jongg, gained popularity in the United States in the 1920s, and is enjoying a resurgence today. Come to The Gathering Place on Wednesdays, 1:00 p.m., and be ready to have some fun! All skill levels are welcome. COVID-19 precautions will be followed. Questions? Contact Deb Harlan, 336-2942, ext. 48, or dharlan@oslchurch.com.

How do we manage these in the context of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic? Come for informal and fun conversation with old and new friends! Bring a lawn chair, coffee, snacks, etc. In case of rain, meet in The Gathering Place. The discussion will be followed by an optional Prayer Walk to explore interesting sites around OSL’s neighborhood. Prayer Walk Maps will be available at the Welcome Center. No registration is required. Contact Michelle Anderson, RN, Faith Community Nurse, with questions: 336-2942, ext. 28, or mianderson@oslchurch.com.

woman knittingKnitting can be good for you—it can relieve stress, be a good way to cope, and decrease the risk of cognitive impairment as you age. If you enjoy knitting, or would like to learn, join the OSL knitters for a fun and relaxing time knitting with others. The group will meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, at 9:30 a.m., in the Oasis Room. COVID protocols will be followed.

Things to Note…

Bell Tower repairs photoOSL’s Bell Tower Project—which had been put on hold thanks to (surprise!) the pandemic—is well underway! Check out photos on the OSL website from time to time to track progress! In addition to photos, you’ll find a note from Facility Manager Scott Meyer outlining the next phase of the project.

Spoke Folk Tour photoOSL is serving as the home congregation of the 2021 South Dakota Spoke Folk Tour! Spoke Folk is a 12-day (July 14-25) mission trip of up to 40 youth and adults from across the country who come together to share the gospel with local churches through a program consisting of contemporary Christian music, puppets, skits, and testimonies. On July 18, after four days of rehearsal at OSL, the group will set off on bicycles for six performances across the region, including stops in Brandon, Dell Rapids, Sioux Falls, and at Dow Rummel Village. The tour will return to OSL to share the full program at the Celebrate worship service on July 25. Thank you for your continued support of OSL’s Youth Ministry, and for helping to bring Spoke Folk to Our Savior’s!
Peace by Piece Quilters Social, July 14, 2021OSL’s Peace by Piece Quilters had to move their July 14 social get-together into the Friendship Room, thanks to rain (which no one is complaining about!)—but everyone attending had a great time, as proven by these pictures, taken by Michelle Anderson.
Theology Tapped LogoHere comes another round of Theology Tapped, an engaging conversation on matters of faith and life in a fun, informal setting, with Pr. Randy. This month’s meet-up will be on Thursday, July 29, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m., at Monk’s Ale House, 420 E. 8th St.
