Theology Tapped LogoHere comes another round of Theology Tapped, an engaging conversation on matters of faith and life in a fun, informal setting, with Pr. Randy. This month’s meet-up will be tonight, Thursday, July 22, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m., at Monk’s Ale House, 420 E. 8th St.

75th Anniversary T-ShirstOur Savior’s 75th Anniversary is coming up fast! You’ve already been encouraged (in Pastoral Letters and elsewhere) to set aside October 31, 2021, for the grand celebration of Lifting High the Cross: OSL at 75, Our Savior’s diamond anniversary theme. To prepare for that celebration, OSL is offering this special 75th Anniversary T-shirt! Order yours today! Sizes Small through XL are $21.30 each, including tax; sizes 2X through 6X are $24.50 each, including tax. Orders must be prepaid using cash or check. Spring BookSThe OSL Library Fall Book Sale will make its post-pandemic return in October! Donations will be accepted starting on August 1, so now’s a good time to start culling your collections! (The Library cannot accept textbooks, dictionaries or encyclopedias, or VCR tapes.) The sale will be held on October 2, 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Sunday, October 3, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Wellness Wheel graphicThe Wednesday Wellness Series will meet in the shade in OSL’s south parking lot on July 28 at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday Wellness discussions center on the seven topics on the Wellness Wheel: Faith Life, Medical, Movement, Work, Emotional, Nutrition, and Friends & Family. How do we manage these in the context of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic? Come for informal and fun conversation with old and new friends! Bring a lawn chair, coffee, snacks, etc. In case of rain, meet in The Gathering Place. The discussion will be followed by an optional Prayer Walk to explore interesting sites around OSL’s neighborhood. Prayer Walk Maps will be available at the Welcome Center. woman knittingKnitting can be good for you—it can relieve stress, be a good way to cope, and decrease the risk of cognitive impairment as you age. If you enjoy knitting, or would like to learn, join the OSL knitters for a fun and relaxing time knitting with others. The group will meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, at 9:30 a.m., in the Oasis Room. COVID protocols will be followed.

There’s no Celebrate bulletin this week: the Spoke Folk youth group will present a special worship experience in Celebrate!

Bell Tower repairs photoOSL’s Bell Tower Project—which had been put on hold thanks to (surprise!) the pandemic—is well underway! Check out photos on the OSL website from time to time to track progress! In addition to photos, you’ll find a note from Facility Manager Scott Meyer outlining the next phase of the project.

Spoke Folk Tour photoOSL is serving as the home congregation of the 2021 South Dakota Spoke Folk Tour! Spoke Folk is a 12-day (July 14-25) mission trip of up to 40 youth and adults from across the country who come together to share the gospel with local churches through a program consisting of contemporary Christian music, puppets, skits, and testimonies. On July 18, after four days of rehearsal at OSL, the group set off on bicycles for six performances across the region, including stops in Brandon, Dell Rapids, Sioux Falls, and at Dow Rummel Village. The tour will return to OSL to share the full program at the Celebrate worship service on July 25. Thank you for your continued support of OSL’s Youth Ministry, and for helping to bring Spoke Folk to Our Savior’s!
Matter of Balance logoA Matter of Balance, an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels, will be held at OSL on Mondays, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., from July 12 through August 30. The program is for anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns or is interested in improving balance, flexibility, and strength. Matter of Balance logoSpeaking of A Matter of Balance: Sanford trauma, geriatrics, and volunteer departments are seeking Volunteer Coaches to help provide this program. Training will be held on Thursday, August 26, and Friday, August 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at OSL. Lunch and materials will be provided. • Catch live-stream worship services at Celebrate, 8:45 a.m.; Festive, 10:15 a.m.

It’s shown at the Welcome Center and on monitors in the Sanctuary and Celebrate Center before worship services. Food to You Mobile Food Pantry logoCome help out when Our Savior’s assists with the next Food to You distribution, on Thursday August 19, at Augustana Lutheran Church (N. Prairie Ave. at Seventh St.). Full details and sign-up sheet are at the Welcome Center.

Photo of SocksThe SIGH Clinic (Stepping into Good Health), a project that works to ensure that men and women find an open door to healthcare services, invites donations of these items this summer:
• Small bottles of lotion or cream
• Lightweight socks for men or women
• Diabetic socks in all colors
• New or gently used walking-type shoes (no sandals or flip-flops)
• Small devotionals

There’s a designated box for your donation near the bins next to the OSL Library. Thank you for your generosity!

Food to You Mobile Food Pantry logoOSL supports the Food to You Mobile Food Pantry by donating various food items to help local families in need, and helping with food distributions. The item for August is any kind of pasta; for September, hearty soup. Always appreciated are toothpaste, shampoo, and deodorant for Hygiene Packs. Place your donations in the marked bins near the south entrance, by the Library.
