Family Game Night graphicAre you ready for OSL Family Trivia Game Night? Everyone is invited to participate in this all-congregation event, this Sunday, June 14, from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.! There will be a hilarious Kahoot! game for all ages to enjoy—your household will be your team as you answer questions ranging from naming the members of Paw Patrol to staff fun facts to wacky South Dakota laws. Log on and let’s find out who has the skill, timing, and luck to come out on top. Social Distancing signAs of now, in-person indoor activities at OSL are canceled to June 15, with one exception: OSL is once again serving as a host site for the Summer Food Service program, which provides lunches for children through age 18, Monday through Friday. Last summer, nearly 11,000 free, nutritious lunches were served up. An outdoor Celebrate worship service is planned for June 14 (see above), but Festive worship will be via television and Facebook Live only. Stay tuned for updates here, or sign up to receive Coming up at OSL via email every week via the button at the bottom of this page.

Photo of books and coffeeThe OSL Library has begun curbside checkout as of June 1. (The Library itself remains closed for now.) Details about curbside hours and procedures are posted on OPAC, the online card catalog. Meanwhile, you may reserve books via OPAC: go to oslchurch.com/library and click the “View the Library Catalog” button to access OPAC.

Killers of the Flower Moon book coverThe Library Committee has selected its Summer One Church One Read selection: Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann. This true-life murder mystery covers one of the most chilling conspiracies in American history. In the 1920s, the richest people per capita in the world were members of the Osage Indian Nation in Oklahoma. Then, one by one, they began to be killed off. This narrative nonfiction book is an indictment of the callousness and prejudice toward American Indians that allowed the murderers to operate with impunity for so long. Copies will be available for curbside checkout beginning on Monday, June 15.
