This month’s Second Saturday Movie, this Saturday, March 14, will be Indivisible, the extraordinary true story of Army Chaplain Darren Turner and his wife, Heather, whose lives are fully devoted to serving God, family, and country. The Silent Auction and the Youth Banquet and Talent Show were a huge success. OSL Youth raised over $11,000 toward their Mission Immersion trips to the Urban Plunge, Ingham Lutheran Bible Camp, and Spoke Folk. Thank you to all the adults who put in time and energy to make the Auction and Banquet possible; the youth for their hard work getting items and working shifts; and the entire congregation for your continued support of OSL youth. Everyone who won should have received a text or email notification. You may pick up your items on Sunday morning at the Youth Information table, or in the Church Office during the week. A list of winning bids is at biddingowl.com/OSLYouthSiouxFalls.

A Little Further Out...

Decorate Your Own Flower Pot Cross+Gen event will be on Sunday, March 22, from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m., in Fellowship Hall. Come paint a flower pot and enjoy table discussion around this year’s Lenten theme, Embrace the Question… (Dirt and seeds will go home with you in a baggie to prevent messes in the worship spaces, and in your car.) This will be in lieu of Sunday education that day. All students grade five and younger must have a parent or caring adult with them. All are welcome!
The Women’s Spring Table Gala will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Decorate a theme table and invite your friends to this fun luncheon! A variety of table sizes will be available to decorate. Deadline to reserve a table is March 22. Contact Cindy Nassen, 212-5792, or Janiece Peterson, 351-8155.
The Winter One Church One Read discussion of This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger will be on March 22, at 10:00 a.m., in the Conference Room.
Beginning with the April issue, The Intercom, OSL’s monthly digital and print publication, will undergo an exciting shift in focus! Going into the future, The Intercom will celebrate the mission and ministry of Our Savior’s, chiefly by looking at a specific ministry area each month and sharing stories of what God is accomplishing through this congregation. As part of this, items that are better suited to OSL’s other communication channels—bulletin announcements, oslchurch.com, Facebook, the weekly Coming up at OSL email, etc.—will no longer be repeated in The Intercom. If you are not receiving The Intercom, email Communications Director Bill Reynolds, breynolds@oslchurch.com, indicating whether you’d like to be notified via email when The Intercom is posted online or if you’d prefer to be mailed a paper copy (in which case, don’t forget to include your address).

Opportunities and Things to Note...

OSL Caring Friends serve members who are homebound or in nursing homes or care facilities, to help them feel connected to the Body of Christ. To become a Caring Friend, contact Deb Harlan, dharlan@oslchurch.com or 336-2942, ext. 48.
OSL supports the Food to You Mobile Food Pantry by donating various food items to help local families in need, and helping with food distributions. The item for March is hearty soup; for April it will be cereal. Place your donations in the marked bins near the south entrance, by the Library.
Do you like to shop? Do you want to use those skills to help a neighbor in need? Our Savior’s Discharge with Dignity program partners with Sanford Hospital to provide clothes to patients upon discharge. Our job is simple: just keep the closet full! To help accomplish this mission, OSL is looking to form a crack team of bargain hunters who will go fan to fill requests as they come in from the hospital, then bring items to OSL to be distributed. Contact Pr. Justin Kosec, jkosec@oslchurch.com, to sign up!
