Be sure to extend a greeting to Ben Weins, who has joined the OSL staff as Spiritual Care Coordinator. Ben, Leah, and their daughters Julia and Miriam are longtime members of Our Savior’s. Things to Note…
The Blood Mobile will be at OSL on Sunday, October 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, or you may sign up now at the Welcome Center. Thank you for giving the gift of life!
Plan now to attend the Pumpkin Prayer Cross+Gen, on Sunday, October 9, at 10:00 a.m., in Fellowship Hall. This fun, seasonal pumpkin-painting activity will promote meaningful discussion and help you grow in God’s love. The Cross+Gen will be in lieu of Sunday School that morning, and students in fifth grade or younger must have a caring adult with them. All are welcome to this free event.
Saturday Morning Bible Study at OSL meets weekly, from 8:30 to 9:30, in the Conference Room. All are welcome—women as well as men—to come for Bible study, conversation, and, yes, donuts and coffee! The fall study is based on conversations around different faith traditions and denominations, utilizing the book Honoring Our Neighbor’s Faith. For more information contact Pr. Tim Lemme, 605-336-2942, ext. 19, or email@example.com.
Our Savior’s will join with Augustana University Campus Ministry for Indigenous Peoples Day on Sunday, October 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Our Savior’s, preceded by a discussion of the book Crooked Hallelujah by Kelli Jo Ford, at 4:00. A limited number of copies of the book are available in the OSL Library and at Augustana’s Chapel of Reconciliation.
Every week, Our Savior’s Communications produces a short Information Video of upcoming events, activities, and opportunities. It’s shown at the Welcome Center and on monitors in the Sanctuary and Celebrate Center before worship services. And it’s posted to the OSL website as well, so if you haven’t been by for a while, or you’d just like a closer look, find the videos here!
If you’re worshiping from home, you can fully participate in the OSL community’s worship life. Here’s how:
• View (or print) weekly worship materials at oslchurch.com.
• Watch worship services on TV: Celebrate: 9:00 a.m., FOX-TV (channel 46.2); Festive: 1:00 p.m., KSCB (cable channel 30; channel 53).
• Catch live-stream worship services at facebook.com/oslchurchsf: Celebrate, 8:45 a.m.; Festive, 10:15 a.m.

• Praise God, from whom all blessings flow!
Opportunities to Help
OSL’s Campus Cupboard helps OSL’s Augustana University and University of Sioux Falls neighbors with food items to help them get by when dining halls are unavailable (such as during school holidays). With classes underway, it’s good to keep the Cupboard well stocked. Visit oslchurch.com to see a shopping list of popular items (spoiler alert: students like ramen. A lot), and you’ll find a labeled cart near the south entrance for your donations. Thank you for your generosity!
Our Savior’s welcomes all singers and instrumentalists to participate in both Celebrate and Festive worship, whether as a soloist or by joining a group. All are welcome! Here’s what’s coming up this fall:
• The Joyful Noize worship team, for children in second through fifth grade, will be meeting on Wednesdays, from 5:30 to 6:15 P.M., in the Celebrate Center, starting on September 7. Joyful Noize prepares drama, visual art, and music for worship once a month, and everyone has fun learning the Bible stories used in worship services.
• Our Savior’s Choir, now incorporating the Response Singers, will have a second “early bird” rehearsal (the first was last week) to prepare for Kickoff Sunday, on Wednesday, September 7, at 6:30 p.m., and afterward will rehearse on Sunday mornings at 9:30, in the Choir Room, starting on September 11. The choir is open to high-school students and adults.
• The Bells of Our Savior’s, open to high-school students and adults, will resume meeting on Tuesday evenings, from 5:30 to 6:30 P.M. in the Bell Room, starting on September 13.

One of the greatest gifts we can give to anyone is the gift of our time. A listening ear, a phone call, a quick note can be a source of comfort and a bright spot in someone’s day. OSL’s Caring Friends are volunteers who reach out monthly to OSL members residing in care facilities in the Sioux Falls area. This ministry program was created as an opportunity to minister to those who can no longer participate in worship and fellowship opportunities at OSL, to make them feel connected, and a vital part of their church family. Through phone calls, mail, visits, and prayer, Caring Friends reach out with the Love of Christ to those who often find themselves alone or disconnected. This outreach is an essential part of Our Savior’s mission to connect faith to everyday life. If you would like to participate in this ministry, contact Pr. Tim Lemme (605-336-2942, ext. 19, or email@example.com) or Ben Weins, Spiritual Care Coordinator (605-336-2942, ext. 28, or firstname.lastname@example.org).
Christ Caring for People through People is the motto of Stephen Ministry. The Stephen Minister’s role is to bring God’s love into the lives of people who are going through a difficult time or experiencing a crisis. They listen, care, support, encourage, and pray with and for a person who is hurting. And in the midst of this confidential, one-to-one, caring relationship, God’s healing love comes pouring through. If someone you know is facing a crisis, large or small, and could benefit from the caring presence of a Stephen Minister, contact Pr. Tim Lemme (605-336-2942, ext. 19, or email@example.com) or Ben Weins, Spiritual Care Coordinator (605-336-2942, ext. 28, or firstname.lastname@example.org).
OSL supports the Food to You Mobile Food Pantry by donating various food items to help local families in need, and helping with food distributions. The item for October is any kind of cereal; for November, peanut butter. Always appreciated are toothpaste, shampoo, and deodorant for Hygiene Packs.
