Midweek Lenten worship services continue on Wednesdays, at noon in the Chapel and at 6:40 p.m. in the Sanctuary, from March 13 through April 10. The Lenten theme this year is The Right Stuff, a theme that will help us explore how we can use the stuff in our lives for godly purposes.
OSL Food Ministry will serve breakfast this Sunday in The Gathering Place, starting at 9:30. This week’s menu: Cheese omelets, sausage patties, hash browns, orange juice, and donut holes. Wednesday supper during Lent is soup and pie. Thank you for contributing to the freewill offering to help cover expenses.
To keep God’s grace at the heart of the Lenten season, the OSL Library is hosting an Eggs-on-the-Shelf Lent and Easter activity! Come check out items from the Library each Sunday and Wednesday through April 21, find one of the Resurrection Eggs hidden among the shelves, and answer a question about the Easter story to receive a prize!
Looking for engaging conversation on matters of faith and life in a fun, informal setting? Join Pr. Randy for Theology Tapped tonight, Thursday, March 28, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m., at Monk’s House of Ale Repute, 420 E. 8th St.
The Potluck Supper is this Saturday, March 30, at 6:00 p.m., in The Gathering Place. Don’t miss it!
OSL Women’s Spring Retreat will be held on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in The Gathering Place. Come for brunch, devotions, music, and a guest speaker: Sanaa Abourezk, gourmet chef, author, restaurateur, nutritionist, and blogger. Walking Workout Wednesdays will continue through April 10, at 10:00 a.m., in the Labyrinth Room. Using a Leslie Sansone DVD, the group will walk in place with easy-to-follow moves for shaping the waistline, flattening the tummy, and strengthening the back. Following the DVD workout, everyone will be invited on a 30-minute walk around the building—inside, of course! Come for a fun, active time.

The OSL Library’s spring book sale will run from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, in the Friendship Room. Stock up on your summer reading, viewing, and listening selections!
Sabbath Seekers is a monthly informal, come-as-you-are gathering of adults of all ages. Enjoy Coffea coffee, delicious treats, and getting to know other people who like those things too at the next Sabbath Seekers, on April 7, from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m., in Fellowship Hall.

The next Friendship Club will feature Dr. Melissa Johnson speaking about her work with veterans and their families at the VA Hospital. The program will start at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, in the Friendship Room. Lunch will follow, at 11:30, in The Gathering Place. Come and enjoy this wonderful time together, and bring a friend—or two!—to Friendship Club.

Okoboji Recharge for fourth- through sixth-graders will be April 26 through 28. This year’s Envelope Fundraiser will begin on April 14, supporting OSL high school students going on the Compass Points trip to Colorado in June. Students will climb a mountain, grow in faith, and learn about the importance of community. Stop by the south windows, near the Celebrate Center, grab a numbered envelope, put cash or a check (made to OSL) with the corresponding number of dollars as the envelope’s number, and place it in the offering or turn it into the Church Office by May 8. Do you hear the Holy Spirit calling? The South Dakota Synod will sponsor a Seminary Discernment Retreat on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Joy Ranch near Watertown. This fun-filled, fast-paced day of discernment and conversation will provide information for people of all ages to learn about a variety of seminary study programs, seminary financial aid, and the ELCA candidacy process for those considering a call to public ministry as a pastor or deacon. Opportunities and Things to Note...

This year’s Lenten and Easter Offerings are designated as direct support of OSL’s 30-some ministry partners, which expand exponentially the reach of our mission beyond the walls of Our Savior’s. Thank you for your generous support.
Hospital Visitation is a vital ministry that lets OSL members know they matter to both God and their church family. Opportunities exist for you to volunteer, and training will be provided! Contact Pr. Tim Lemme, or 336- 2942, ext. 19, or Deb Harlan, or 336-2942, ext. 48, for details.
OSL Caring Friends serve members who are homebound or in nursing homes or care facilities, to help those folks feel connected to the Body of Christ. Many opportunities exist for you to become a Caring Friend! Let’s Go Shopping! In partnership with Sanford, Our Savior’s has begun a program to provide basic clothing to folks discharged from the hospital without shoes, socks, underwear, pants, etc. That creates an opportunity for a couple of shoppers to help keep shelves stocked with items requested by OSL’s partners in the hospital’s social work department. The deadline is March 31 for Thrivent Benefit members to direct Choice Dollars to a charity of their choice—including OSL—at no cost to themselves. Church on the Street is collecting Easter eggs for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. You can help by contributing plastic Easter eggs filled with candy. OSL supports the Food to You Mobile Food Pantry by donating various food items throughout the year, which will be used by local families in need. The food item for March will be hearty soup; for April it will be cereal. Donations may be placed in the marked bins near the south entrance, by the Library.
