OSL Food Ministry will serve breakfast this Sunday in The Gathering Place, starting at 9:30. This week’s menu: Bacon and eggs. Wednesday supper will be biscuits and gravy. Check out the month’s menu at oslchurch.com! Thank you for contributing to the freewill offering to help cover expenses.

OSL’s Stewardship Development Committee will host a Stewardship Listening Post this Sunday, Oct. 6, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., in the Conference Room. The purpose of the Listening Post is to engage OSL members and friends in guided, open conversation about stewardship—of time, talents, treasure, and more. Lisa Parker will be guiding the conversation. Join her and other OSL friends at the Listening Post, and let your voice be heard!

Connecting Faith and Life, an adult learning opportunity at OSL, will continue its in-depth look into the Gospel of Luke this Wednesday, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., in the Friendship Room. Participants explore how God calls the church—that’s us!—into an era of carrying the Good News about Jesus to the ends of the earth. Kairos student Robert Peterson is filling in for Pr. Randy. Classes are open to all adults. A $5 donation will help defray the cost of resources and supplies.
Pr. Randy is on sabbatical, for the purpose of rest, renewal, study, and leadership development, through Nov. 30. OSL policy allows pastors to request sabbatical after serving for six years. For assistance with matters typically handled by Pr. Randy, contact the Church Office, 336-2942, to be connected with the proper person to help you in his absence. Keep Pr. Randy in your prayers during this time.

The workshops are for adults and/or their caregivers who experience daily pain from ongoing conditions, and will cover such topics as exercising, goal-setting, pain medication, managing stress and depression, and more.
