Adult Confirmation Resumes
OSL’s Adult Confirmation course continues, taking a look at basic Lutheran teachings and engaging in conversation around how they connect with everyday life. Everyone is welcome to come as we engage some of Luther’s best theological writings. Class meets on Wednesdays, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., in the Friendship Room, from January 4 through April 5. Pr. Randy Gehring will facilitate.

Theology on Tap
Come and join Pr. Randy at Monk’s House of Ale Repute. 420 E. 8th St., for conversation, reflection, prayer, and Christian community on Thursday, January 19, from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m.

A Note from Pr. Jared
As I look back on the years that I was blessed to have served as one your pastors, I cannot help but smile as I think of the people that I have been blessed to know. Together we have laughed, celebrated, cried, and tackled some difficult times. During my time here I have learned and grown because of you! While here my family has grown from three to six and you compassionately walked with me and my wife as we endured the medical hardships and challenges of our youngest.

I also want to thank the amazing staff that I have been blessed to work with. From those past to the current staff, you are amazing, you have taught me much and I take away far more than I gave. Thank you, OSL staff!

Finally, I want to thank you for all that you have done for me as a congregation! It has been an honor and a privilege to have served amongst you for the sake of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you, and God bless.

Love in Christ,
Pr. Jared Rakness

The Lutheran Reformation: Why Does It Matter?
This year marks the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s posting of the 95 Theses and the beginning of the Reformation. As members of Our Savior’s Lutheran, should we care? Even lifelong Lutherans can be surprised to learn about some of Martin Luther’s core convictions and teachings.

Join the staff of the Luther House of Study for an introduction to Luther, a discussion of why the 95 Theses made an impact, and an exploration of some of his key convictions and teachings. Explore these topics and gain resources to learn more about Luther, a man whose impact is still felt today, on the first two Sundays in January, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., in Fellowship Hall.

To start your journey, visit lutherhouseofstudy.org and watch videos in the Reformation series.
