Summertime! And the
Livin’ Is…

…Busy! Which is par for the course at Our Savior’s—pick any season and you’ll always find lots happening at OSL.

For instance?

Well, of course, there’s OSL Summer Blasts, which bring the OSL community and the neighborhood together monthly for food, games, music, and outdoor worship. This year’s Blasts kick off on June 12 with Cruisin’ Classics, with music by Mogen’s Heroes, “God Talk” (OSL’s answer to “Car Talk”) with Peter and Paul; and the Fourth Annual OSL Car and Motorcycle Show. The grills will be fired up in time for supper to start at 5:00 p.m., so gather up family, friends, and neighbors and head to Our Savior’s for an evening of summer fun!

(While you’re at it, mark your calendar for the next month’s Summer Blast, Splash, on July 10; and the season’s final Blast, OSL Tailgate, on August 7. Watch the OSL website, email updates, bulletin announcements, and The Intercom for details.)

As this issue of The Intercom goes to press, preparations are well underway for the annual South Dakota Synod Assembly, which will take place at OSL from May 31 through June 2. Synod Assembly is always an exciting weekend, but this year’s will be especially so because, by the time the dust settles, voting members will have elected a new bishop. The OSL community is honored to host the hundreds of voting members, visitors, vendors, and ELCA guests who will be on hand.

Because of the assembly, there will be a small disruption to the worship schedule, namely, no Saturday worship on June 1. But Saturday evening worship will be back on June 8, at 5:00.

Speaking of worship: You’ll have noticed that the summer worship schedule launched on Memorial Day weekend, as usual. As is customary, the summer schedule will run through Labor Day weekend, and look like this:
• Saturday, 5:00 p.m. – Festive Worship, Sanctuary
• Sunday, 8:45 a.m. – Celebrate Worship, Celebrate Center
• Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – Festive Worship, Sanctuary
• Sunday, 10:30 a.m. Celebrate Worship, Celebrate Center

Outdoor Celebrate worship will be at 8:45 a.m. on June 9, July 7, and August 4, weather permitting.

Once again, a group of OSL fans will board a motorcoach and head to Minneapolis for the OSL Twins Outing, on July 17. The Twins will take on the New York Mets at Target Field, and OSL has lined up great seats for a fun day. Sign up at the Information Center. Questions? Check with Pr. Tim Lemme, tlemme@oslchurch.com or 336-2942.

And that’s just some of the highlights—this summer also will see “A Universe of Stories” Summer Reading Program, the Summer One Church One Read, OSL Youth summer trips, Vacation Bible School, and more! Keep an eye on The Intercom, bulletin announcements, OSL’s Facebook page, and
oslchurch.com/calendar
for all the latest. And enjoy your summer—before you know it, Kick-Off Weekend will be here, and then things will get even busier!
