“Improvisation on a Theme for Reformation,” OSL Sunday and Wednesday School Students, arr. Matthew Tylutki

OSL Principal Organist Matthew Tylutki met with Sunday School and Wednesday School students and their families on Oct. 20 and Oct. 23, sharing fun, interactive learning stations where they explored Reformation music. Matthew used the results of a composition game to create an original piece for organ, “Improvisation on a Theme for Reformation,” which he played in Festive worship services on Oct. 27.

Alas, services ran a bit long that day, and because of the constraints of television broadcasting, the portion of the service containing the composition was not recorded.

Luckily, Matthew anticipated that and recorded the piece himself. And here it is, with photos illustrating the students’ composition efforts. Enjoy!
