Barely a few days have passed since Reformation Sunday and we embark on the 502nd year since Martin Luther’s thoughts, writings, and actions began to change the world. Wow!

On November 4 we remember loved ones in reflective services we call All Saints Sunday. This year also marks the fifth consecutive year in which the Our Savior’s Foundation celebrates the Jubilee Society. The Jubilee Society was formed as a way to recognize those who made legacy gifts to the endowment administered by the Foundation’s Board of Directors. We are thankful for those who have gone before us blazing a trail for gifts to serve the congregation year after year.

As of year-end 2017, the Foundation held $2,791,703 in net assets! For 2018 the Foundation recently made $112,000 in distributions to OSL to fund current and future needs such as up-grades to HVAC and lighting, carpet and paint in the Labyrinth Room, replacement of wireless microphones, and a portion of the repair and renewal of the bell tower.
Looking forward, more than 100 members have made commitments to leave a legacy gift to the Foundation. Collectively, these gifts will help fuel the mission of Our Savior’s for years. You can be part of this effort to strengthen the future. A simple email will get you started. Put “Let’s Talk” in the subject line and send it to me, Jon Oien, joien@sio.midco.net. Together we will discuss ways for your thoughts and dreams toward ministry to become a reality someday.
