For Just Such a
Time as This
Jodie Nielsen
Kari Van Wakeren’s article, “Maybe You Were Made for This,” in the June issue of Gather magazine, states, “Chances are good that most of us will never come into a position of royal authority like Queen Esther. Most of us won’t even run for public office. Yet each day…we have the chance to touch another life for good. Of course, most of the time our choices aren’t glamorous. They won’t get us national attention or make us rich. But through baptism, we each receive a calling as God’s child to serve our neighbor. When we use our gifts to serve God and our neighbor, no small act of kindness or generosity goes to waste.”
Kari goes on to say, “Celebrate the gifts God has given you, and open yourself up to God’s Spirit to use those gifts to bless others.
After all, who knows? Maybe you were made a mom…engineer…sister…farmer…daughter…teacher…friend…quilter…lawyer… _______________ (fill in the blank) for just such a time as this.
