It’s Name Tag and Prayer Request Weekend! Put names to some faces you’ve seen at worship, and make some new friends! Also, you’re invited to share any prayer request you have on a Prayer Request Card, which you may place in the basket t communion time. This too will be offered on the first weekend of the month.
OSL’s Facility Manager Andy Erickson is moving on to new ventures. Thanks to Andy for helping keep The Our Savior’s campus in good shape, and best wishes in his next chapter!
Friendship Club is going to the zoo! Celebrate spring with the Friendship Club with a trip to the Great Plains Zoo! Meet at the zoo next Tuesday, May 7, at 10:00 a.m. sharp, for a group tour. Afterward, everyone will enjoy a picnic lunch together. The cost for entrance and lunch is $20. Sign up at the Welcome Center or call the Church Office, 605-336-2942.
Join a group of volunteers coming together on Wednesday, May 8, to help clean up the OSL grounds prior to the South Dakota Synod Assembly. The group will work on general spruce-up, removing and replacing some bushes, raking leaves, etc. Work will start at 8:30 a.m.; come and go as your schedule allows. Bring work gloves, and if you wish to bring along your favorite rake, broom, pruning shears, shovel, etc., that would help! No need to sign up, just bring yourself…and a friend: many hands make light work! Synod Assembly will be May 30-June 1, and OSL will be hosting voting members and visitors from across the state and beyond.
Our Savior’s is looking for a Wedding Coordinator. The coordinator will meet with wedding couples several times before their wedding and will attend the rehearsal and the wedding. Total time commitment is usually six to eight hours per wedding. In recent years, there have been three to seven church weddings per year. Contact the Church Office, 605-336-2942, for information.

Come have some fun when OSL’S Recycled Card Group hosts Craft Night on Wednesday, May 8, at 6:00 p.m., in Room 102. Supplies will be furnished, and members of the Recycled Card Group will be on hand to assist and discuss the group with those who might be interested in joining. (Note that it’s not necessary to come to OSL to make cards—you can do so at home if you prefer.) The handcrafted recycled greeting cards are available in the Library for a suggested donation, which goes into the Library’s book budget. See how it all comes together and have fun making some cards of your own!
Fellowship and good food are on the agenda for the Celebration of the Women of OSL/Mother’s Day Potluck, on Saturday, May 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Sign up at the Welcome Center if you wish to bring salads or bars; OSL will supply deli meats and bread. Bring a friend!

Brace yourself—Midnight Madness is returning to OSL! Midnight Madness is when OSL rolls out the red carpet for Augustana University students preparing for finals, for an evening of relaxation, study, and, of course, food! This semester’s Midnight Madness will be on Sunday, May 14 from 6:00 p.m. to Midnight—and you can help! Look for sign-up sheets at the Welcome Center for volunteers, dessert- and snack-makers, and financial donations. Thanks for helping to support OSL’s Augie neighbors.
OSL Library hours have changed! Here’s the new schedule: Sunday, 9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.; Friday, closed; Saturday, 4:00–6:00 p.m.

Summer is coming, bringing with it summer worship hours, which will run from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Saturday evening Festive worship will remain at 5:00; Sunday morning’s schedule will be Celebrate worship at 8:45 and Festive worship at 10:30. Outdoor worship will be held (weather permitting) on July 7, August 4, and September 1, at 8:45, on the southeast lawn. Additionally, there will be an outdoor worship time at the Summer Blast on Wednesday, June 5, but with no communion.

SAIL (Stay Active & Independent for Life) is a strength, balance, and fitness class offered through Sanford Health and specifically designed for adults 65+. Participants improve balance and mobility, reduce their risk of falls, and improve their quality of life while having fun meeting new people. Experienced and skillful instructors teach each class. Classes are tailored to older adults who are active and wish to maintain or increase their fitness level; chairs will be available as needed. Best of all, it’s free! A new series of classes at OSL meets on Mondays, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., in the Hub.

Every week, Our Savior’s Communications produces a short Information Video of upcoming events, activities, and opportunities. It’s shown at the Welcome Center and on monitors in the Sanctuary and Celebrate Center before worship services. The Woodshop Ministry team meets each week on Wednesdays, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon. All are welcome, whether you are a seasoned woodworker or a beginning craftsperson, to join the team each week to work on projects for the church, the community, and ourselves. All are welcome to join OSL’s Knitting Group, meeting on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, in Room 102, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. The knitters craft prayer and baptismal shawls for use in the ministries of Our Savior’s.

Tim Lemme and members of OSL’s Good Grief Group each Thursday, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., in the Friendship Room, for conversation, reflective study, and compassionate peer support.
