Opportunities

OSL’s Caring Friends expands the visitation program to individuals who are homebound or in nursing homes. There are many opportunities for you to join this important ministry! Contact Deb Harlan, 336-2942, ext. 48, or dharlan@oslchurch.com.

Caring Ministries has a volunteer opportunity for people to help greet members who are coming to the Footcare Clinic on the first Wednesday of each month. Opportunities exist in the morning, from 9:00 to noon, and afternoon, noon to 3:00. Contact Michelle Anderson, RN, Faith Community Nurse, 336-2942, ext. 28, or mianderson@oslchurch.com, to help serve in this ministry.

Serve OSL TV Ministry as a camera operator on Sunday mornings—two openings now exist. It’s fun and easy, and a great way to help spread OSL’s ministry far and wide. Stop by the TV control room on the lower level on Sunday morning to join up. Training will be provided.

Be part of a newly forming Ayuda Ministry Team at Our Savior’s that will focus on ministry with our Spanish-speaking neighbors in Sioux Falls. If you are passionate about one or more of the following, you qualify to serve: Help for people facing the challenges of immigration and assimilation; ministries of social justice or social service; hospitality and ministries of welcome. For more information, contact Pr. Randy, rgehring@oslchurch.com or 336-2942, ext. 11.

Here’s your chance to count! Every Monday morning, a group of dedicated volunteers meets to process the weekly deposit. Would you like to help count the offerings? The time commitment is two to three hours, but it is not a weekly commitment—counters who are available periodically during the year are encouraged to volunteer. Excel spreadsheet and/or 10 key experience is helpful but not required. For more information or to volunteer, call Barb Haugan, 336-2942, ext.23.

Fluent in Spanish? Share that information with the Church Office or one of the pastors—opportunities to serve using your Spanish skills will be coming up in 2017. Be a part of OSL’s outreach to our Spanish-speaking neighbors.

Winter weather brings out The Caretakers, a group of volunteers who help with clean-up and various other chores around the OSL campus. Well, actually, winter brings inThe Caretakers, but the group always finds things to do inside when the weather isn't pleasant. To join the Caretakers, simply show up in The Gathering Place on any Thursday morning, as you are able, from 9:00 to noon. Wear appropriate work clothes (hat and work gloves) and bring a water bottle. Tools will be provided. Questions? Contact Jim Ryan, 941-9314.
